From Michigan’s only IMAX® Dome Theatre to the Dassault Systèmes Planetarium, family programs to field trips, live science demonstrations to hands-on exhibit laboratories, the Science Center has something for kids ages 2 to 92. The mission of the Detroit Science Center is to inspire visitors to pursue and support careers in engineering, technology and science. Founded by Detroit businessman and philanthropist Dexter Ferry nearly 30 years ago, the Detroit Science Center was among the first centers for scientific exploration and learning in the country to include an IMAX® Dome Theatre. An exhibit floor and program plan encouraged hands-on interaction, exploration and study of science and technology.
